Last night we launched our new program called “Young Adults”. The group is made up of youth from the counselor in training course, counselors and alumni. The evening included a screening of the documentary film “Searching for Sugar Man” and a discussion on the film. The youth identified inner truth, being true to yourself, not giving up, hope and the possibility for change as major themes in the film. The youth then focused in on how our small and big actions can impact others, with or without our knowledge. The youth shared some personal stories of people who influenced them. Finally, the youth shared their thoughts on the impact of their work in Kids4Peace. Participants shared personal stories an concluded that although we might not immediately see the effect of our work in Kids4Peace, it is clear to them that a change is taking place, one person at a time.
It was an inspiring evening and we look forward to more young adult meetings!
